OPTICAL COMM

1. It can communicate two items simultaneously with the SBC I-D boost controller by

selecting the two items wanted to be optically communicated.

2. The SBC I-D can configure the amount of boost by entering the vehicle speed signal.

3. When connecting the R-VIT with the SBC I-D, use a plate to align the optics.

4. Configuration Method

z To display the OPTICAL COMM MODE, select and enter [OPTICAL COMM] by scrolling

up or down at the MAIN MENU and press enter to confirm and it will select on CH1.

z Press enter to select the monitoring item to be communicated with the SBC I-D.

z Scroll Up or Down to select the monitoring item (

[①Vehicle speed] ～ [⑱４ＷＤ %]).

z To select back to CH1, press enter.

z Press Down to select CH2 and press enter to select the second monitoring item to be

communicated with the SBC I-D.

z Scroll Up or Down to select the monitoring item (

[①Vehicle speed] ～ [⑱４ＷＤ %]).

z To select back to CH2, press enter.

z Pressing Left will go back to the MAIN MENU.

[Warning]

z The instruction manual for the SVC I-D only explains how to connect using the

optical connection with the POWER METER I-D. However, the steps to configure

the SVC I-D with the R-VIT are identical.

z Use the R-VIT to clear the peak value or to make some changes on the

configuration.

5. Boost control depending on the vehicle speed

z If the R-VIT and SVC I-D are optically connected; please see the SVC I-D instruction

manual (SPEED MAP) on how to control the boost based on vehicle speed.

z In the case above, make sure the R-VIT OPTICAL COMM CH1’s item is configured as

SPEED.

※The signal speed of the vehicle diagnosis connector is slower than the SBC I-D sampling

time. As a result, the displayed vehicle speed on the monitor might respond slower than the

real vehicle speed.
